The Youth4Sure Story
How was Youth4Sure born?
It all began with the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki (M-T) Deliberative Democracy Pilot. This was a group of local rangatahi (youth) who got together to answer the question: How can Auckland Council better support youth hauora?
A couple of our Youth4Sure panel members were in this group! These youth members fed back to the M-T local board some recommendations, including:
Listening to rangatahi and supporting them as active community leaders
What resulted was this Participatory Budgeting project! Which we have titled Youth4Sure, as this fund has 4 main objectives, and it is FOR YOUTH, FOR SURE. Youth asked for this and youth are leading in delivering it.
The M-T local board, Department of Internal Affairs and Foundation North have partnered with us to bring this fund to the M-T area.
This fund is open to applications on Friday 25 October 2024 and closes on Friday 6 December 2024.
